Conor McGregor is not going to like this.
The new UFC lightweight champion has already stated his intention to take the Nevada State Athletic Commission to court over the fine he received for his part in the bottle-throwing incident ahead of UFC 202.
After being fined $150,000 and ordered to do 50 hours of community service by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his role in an exchange of water bottles at the press conference in August, McGregor was adamant that he would challenge the punishment.
On Thursday in Nevada the other party in that row (and most would say the instigator) Nate Diaz, was handed down his punishment.
Nate Diaz has agreed to pay 2.5% of his $2mil UFC 202 purse for the water throwing, so $50k. Plus 50 hours community service.

As the fine was a percentage of the purse on offer to each fighter Diaz’s fine was always likely to be smaller, but half of McGregor’s fine was separate to the purse.
This extra $75,000 was a donation to the state’s anti-bullying campaign and it would appear Diaz has not been ordered to make the same payment.
If McGregor was already unhappy with the punishment this is unlikely to change his opinion.
