Chelsea fans are not one bit happy about player heading to Celtic

This hasn't gone down well

It’s safe to say that Chelsea supporters would prefer to see Charly Musonda stay put.

According to several reports, Musonda is set to join Celtic on an 18-month loan deal, with a medical expected to take place on Monday.

The Blues winger has struggled to break into the plans of manager Antonio Conte and was an unused substitute during Sunday’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Newcastle.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been a fan of Musonda for some time and reportedly tried to bring him in on loan last summer but the approach was rebuffed by Chelsea.

The Belgian joined Chelsea’s youth set-up from Anderlecht in 2012 and was sent to Real Betis to get some experience of first-team football.

Musonda scored on his full debut for Conte’s side in a 5-1 League Cup victory over Nottingham Forest last September, an achievement which the 21-year-old said left him in tears.

However all but two of Musonda’s seven appearances for Chelsea have come as a substitute and he vented his frustration with his lack of playing time in a scathing social media post in October.

But while Conte might not fancy Musonda, the club’s supporters remain convinced of his talent and they simply can’t hold back their disappointment that he will be plying his trade at Celtic Park for the next year and a half.
