This wasn't the most subtle of attempts to gain an advantage, but fair play for trying.
Jamie Cudmore is one of the Canada's most important and most experienced rugby players and he used some of that experience against France. The second row, who is fluent in French after spending a decade playing for Grenoble and Clermont, tried to find out what the French were planning in the closing stages of the first half.
