Cesc Fabregas slams team-mates’ poor attitude as cause of Chelsea’s woes (Video)

Just telling the truth

What exactly has Cesc Fabregas to lose by telling the truth about Chelsea?

The club seem to be in terminal decline on the domestic front at least, while in Europe they are looking forward to the last 16 of the Champions League.

It’s an odd situation for supporters but even stranger for the players who cannot put right their horrible start to season as we hurtle towards the Christmas period and all the complications that brings.

Fabregas

Fabregas took part in a Facebook Q&A this afternoon on Sky a day after the 2-1 loss to Premier League leaders Leicester City  with former team-mate Thierry Henry, and was not shy in laying down the law to his fellow Chelsea players in the dressing room about where they need to improve this season.

“We will all have to take our responsibility, if you are a big player, and paid like a big player, you must play like a big player and behave like a big player.

“I am not saying you can’t have a bad season and bad games. We all have big players and small players but the attitude must be spot on. We must always be at the top of our games, even when it’s not. The behaviour has to be better than what we are seeing right now from every single Chelsea player.”

The former Arsenal man  also feels that players need to man up and accept more responsibility for the club’s current issues

“At the end of the day, as a player you have pride. We cannot win the Premier League right now but we must do better. Right now is not the time to think of where we might finish, we’ve been saying it almost all season. We’ve put ourselves in this position and we must now prove that we can start winning.”
