Burnley striker accuses his own fans of racism during friendly

He's spoken out immediately

Burnley’s record signing Andre Gray has spoken out after apparent racist language from the club’s fans during their pre-season friendly against Bradford City.

The former Brentford striker, who top-scored as the Clarets won the Championship last season, scored the first two goals in a 4-1 away game to add to strikes in the last two pre-season games.

But the game was marred by allegations of racism from two members of the visiting crowd, full details of which are yet to emerge.

Gray has not specified the precise nature of the language, but sent the following tweets taking aim at the fans, who he described as “ignorant”.

At the time of writing, the newly-promoted Premier League club are yet to issue a comment regarding the allegations levelled by Gray.

Some fans have been quick to speak out against the alleged perpetrators on social media, with many calling for the pair to receive lifetime stadium bans.
