After their widely praised ‘Stevenage Challenge’ Burger King have a new campaign with the club

Following the huge success of their Stevenage Challenge campaign, Burger King have announced they are extending their partnership with the League Two club to cover its women’s team.

The new deal will see equal sponsorship terms across both men’s and women’s sides and the fast food chain have also marked the occasion by announcing a new ‘Burger Queen’ logo, designed to promote equality.

The new logo, which also features on Burger King’s UK social media accounts, will appear on the front of Stevenage Women shirts for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

Burger King made the announcement with a video on their Twitter account. ‘Playing for Stevenage FC is hard’, the clip explains, ‘playing for the women’s team shouldn’t be harder.’

Stevenage Women currently compete in the FA Women’s National League South East Division, and the new deal will bring a significant financial boost for them.

Earlier in the year Burger King were praised for an ingenious marketing campaign which saw Stevenage become FIFA 20 Career Mode’s most used team.

The chain began sponsoring the fourth tier team at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, and having done so then challenged FIFA players around the world to select them when playing online or in Career Mode.

Once they had done this, they were encouraged to share video clips of their goals online and in return receive rewards from Burger King.

According to a video posted online detailing the marketing campaign, more than 25,000 goals scored with Stevenage were posted online from the release of FIFA 20 and, as a result of the campaign, the club sold out their home shirt for the first time in its history.
