Brock Lesnar has been suspended for one year by USADA for failing two drug tests prior to UFC 200 last July.
Lesnar’s punishment was announced on Wednesday afternoon in a statement issued by USADA.
The former UFC heavyweight champion will be eligible to return to the Octagon on July 15, 2017 – exactly a year after his provisional USADA suspension began.
According to the USADA statement:
“In an out-of-competition drug test on June 28 and in-competition test on July 9, the night of UFC 200, Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene and its metabolite, 4-hydroxyclomiphene, following an out-of-competition urine test conducted on June 28, 2016, and an in-competition urine test conducted on July 9, 2016.”
He was also suspended for a year by the Nevada Athletic Commission, and fined $250,000.
The result of Lesnar’s fight at UFC 200, a unanimous decision victory over Mark Hunt, has been overturned and ruled as a no-contest by the Nevada Athletic commission.
