British Olympian Adam Peaty has changed his name on Instagram following his wedding to Holly Ramsey on Saturday.
The swimmer's wedding has been surrounded by controversy after reports emerged that swathes of Peaty's family, including his own mother, did not attend.
Ahead of the ceremony, Peaty's mother Caroline gave an unpaid for interview with The Mail, where she laid out further details surrounding the family dispute.
Caroline said: "I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.
“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken," ending with the sentiment: "They are still both loved, there is nothing I won’t forgive, and I want them to have the best day.”
Adding further fuel to the fire, Peaty himself has opted to change his name on Instagram to “Adam Ramsay Peaty.”
Per reports, the only member of the swimmer's close family to attend the ceremony was his sister Beth.
