Brendan Rodgers has a tinfoil hat theory on rumours of his possible sacking

He's cracking up.
That's the only explanation we have for the absolutely bizarre comments made by Brendan Rodgers after he saw his Liverpool side record a 3-2 win over Aston Villa at Anfield. The Reds' manager was under huge pressure ahead of the game, having watched his team scrape past Carlisle in the Capital One Cup in midweek. Speculation has increased in the last number of weeks that the Northern Irishman will be replaced as manager, but tonight he has come out fighting with a rather curious theory Speaking to the press tonight after the narrow win Rodgers has blamed a conspiracy against him for the uncertainty surrounding his future.“I am pretty confident that there is a group of people that don’t want me here to be the manager," Rodgers said.“Sometimes we haven’t lost games and the hysteria around it is pretty clear that there is maybe something else going on from behind. I am talking about people outside of here."“In all competitions we have lost less games than Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. We have lost two games, which is equivalent to Tottenham and Manchester United." “The hysteria around ourselves is interesting to note. Myself and the players stay very calm and work very hard knowing we will get our rewards."
It could be argued that Rodgers is taking aim at the amount of ex-Liverpool players in the media, but perhaps he is also pointing a finger at some of the rumours that appeared to be coming out of America of various successors being lined up to replace Rodgers over the last number of weeks.
