Floyd Mayweather versus Logan Paul isn’t proper boxing, says Carl Froch

Mayweather is rumoured to be in negotiations with the YouTube star

It has been speculated that Floyd Mayweather will step into the ring to face off against YouTuber Logan Paul. However, according to Carl Froch, this wouldn't constitute proper boxing. Writing in his Sky Sports column, the four-time super-middleweight world champion Froch said: "It's a money spinner for both of them and, for me, it's not proper professional boxing. "It's an exhibition, but people enjoy it, and people will want to tune in and watch it." https://twitter.com/KingRyanG/status/1306401983121649664 Froch said he watched Logan Paul's in-ring debut against fellow YouTube personality KSI. "I was there for the Mayweather-McGregor fight and I watched KSI vs Logan Paul, which was entertaining, in spurts. "To start with, I was really sceptical, but you have to realise that boxing is an entertainment business as well. This wouldn't be boxing as the purists know and love the sport. It would never be taken that seriously, but I can see the entertainment side of it." Logan Paul's first clash against KSI occurred on 25th August, 2018. The bout was essentially a white collar amateur match, but was billed as 'the biggest Internet event in history'. It ended in a draw. Bisping, in a since-deleted episode of his podcast said: "I find it almost insulting to everybody that has dedicated their life to being a fighter. Come up the hard way, been a lifelong boxer or martial artist and then these two come in… they're almost making a mockery of the sport of boxing and martial arts." The rematch marked both KSI and Logan Paul's 'professional' debuts, and the Englishman won via split decision. Mayweather has also seen his fair share of unconventional matches in recent years. He went up against Conor McGregor in the boxing ring, stopping the Irishman via TKO in the tenth round.
