Karim Bellarabi of Bayer Leverkusen collapsed on Tuesday afternoon at the side of the pitch during a pre-season friendly in Wutterpal in eastern Germany. The winger had been taken off as a substitute at half time but collapsed on the substitutes' bench during the second half on approximately the 70 minute mark. https://twitter.com/Guardiolato/status/1021838294018150406?s=19 After he regained consciousness he was taken to hospital and is recovering well, as reported by the club's official Twitter account. https://twitter.com/bayer04_en/status/1021857188778856448 The cause of his collapse was heat exhaustion, after temperatures reached 33 degrees in Wutterpal in the afternoon.
