Barcelona upset with two players over refusal to listen to offers

Barça still need to balance the books

Barcelona have been left unhappy with two members of the first-team squad following their refusal to listen to offers to move them on.

The LaLiga champions signed Ilkay Gundogan on Monday and are expected to confirm the arrival of Inigo Martinez from Athletic Bilbao imminently.

Despite their incomings, Barça are still very much in need of moving players on in order to ensure their financial irregularities can come to an end but according to AS, two players aren’t helping with their mission.

While midfielder Franck Kessie is open to a departure after being “understanding of the club’s needs”, the same can’t be said for Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres.

Torres’ contract doesn’t expire until 2027 and the club are still yet to pay off the €60m they gave Manchester City to sign him. Fati meanwhile was touted to be the next big talent from the famous La Masia academy but injuries have stalled his progress.

Wolves have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old however just like Torres, Fati wants to remain at Barça and fight for his place.

Fati and Torres aren’t the only two players the club will look to move on in the summer window, with four other players reportedly available for transfer.

Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti, Sergino Dest and Alex Collado – who were all out on loan last season – have been deemed surplus to requirements and will be sold.
