Barcelona have received a huge boost after the return of Samuel Umtiti, who was named in their squad for their upcoming Champions League tie against Lyon.

Barça travel to Lyon this week for the first leg of their round of 16 tie, in which Umtiti is unlikely to feature, but his return to fitness will be a welcome boost with two clásicos looming.

Barça take on Real Madrid first in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final on February 27, with the score currently level at 1-1, and then in LaLiga, on March 2 – date subject to change.

Umtiti last played for Barça in November. In his absence, his compatriot Clement Lenglet has stepped up to play alongside Gerard Piqué in central defence.

Barcelona remain top of LaLiga, with a seven point lead over Atlético Madrid. Arch rivals Real Madrid have experienced something of a resurgence of late, but were knocked back on Sunday afternoon as they lost 2-1 at home to Girona – their seventh loss of the season.
