Qarabag ended up as 2-0 victors, but that margin of victory could have been greater, had it not been for Elvin Mammadov.
The away side were unjustly awarded a penalty in the second half when a forward took a tumble in the box after jumping over the Inter keeper.
This prompted the Inter players to confront the referee over the poor decision and the crowd to become unsettled.
However, up stepped the hero of the hour Mammadov, deliberately firing the penalty off-target to cheers from the crowd and several pats on the back from the opposition.
