Once a Gooner…

Lukas Podolski’s fondness for Arsenal seems to be as intense as ever before.

The forward left the Emirates in 2015 but it would appear that the North London club still holds a special place in Podolski’s heart.

And given his loyalties to the Gunners, there is no love lost between Podolski and Arsenal’s crosstown rivals Spurs.

Spurs played their last game at White Hart Lane on Sunday, when they secured a 2-1 victory over Manchester United thanks to goals from Victor Wanyama and Harry Kane.

It was an emotional affair for fans, who stayed long after the final whistle to issue a heartfelt farewell to their club’s home for the past 118 years.

For Podolski, it was nothing but the perfect opportunity for trolling. And he seized it with both hands.

The former Germany international felt it appropriate to remind Spurs fans of the “great memories,” from the ground.

Podolski famously jumped into the away end of White Hart Lane when a Tomas Rosicky goal gave the Gunners all three points back in 2014 and he’s been more than a touch vocal about his allegiances in the past.

Having been linked with a move to Spurs later that year, Podolski said: “Hell will freeze over before this transfer would happen.”

Podolski is remembered fondly by Arsenal fans, having contributed 31 goals in his 82 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side.

But it’s his most recent piece of Spurs trolling that may have just seen him cross the threshold into the realm of club legend.
