David Ospina has left Arsenal for Napoli on a one year loan deal. The Colombian goalkeeper had fallen down to third in the pecking order at Arsenal after the arrival of Berndt Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.

Ospina joined Arsenal from OGC Nice after the 2014 World Cup and has made 70 appearances for the Gunners since then.

Napoli have had former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina as their first choice goalkeeper for the last three seasons, but the Spain international departed for AC Milan at the same time as Maurizio Sarri left for Chelsea.

Arsenal have wished Ospina the best of luck at Napoli, who are entering a transition period having lost Sarri and hired Carlo Ancelotti. They will also have to adapt to the loss of Jorginho, previously their midfield metronome, after he followed Sarri to Chelsea.
