Argentine journalist ends up in hospital after attempting to recreate Cristiano Ronaldo’s golazo

Leave it to the pros

He should definitely stick to the day job.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s ludicrous overhead kick should have come with a “do not try at home!” warning.

Most professional football players wouldn’t dream of pulling off the kind of goal that Ronaldo netted against Juventus last week so what hope did this Argentine journalist have?

Manuel Sanchez was hoping to recreate Ronaldo’s stunning Puskas contender with the safety of a padded landing surface but all he got was a nasty injury.

The entire Allianz Stadium was brought to its feet when Real Madrid’s talisman took to the air last week and left Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon rooted.

The reason that 40,000 fans were united in appreciation of the goal was because of its sheer quality and the difficulty associated with not only making contact with the ball but guiding it into the corner of the net.

And it’s safe to say that Manuel Sanchez failed to replicate its beauty.

The Canal Doce reporter didn’t make the best contact with the dropping ball and he definitely didn’t stick the landing as his left leg folded underneath his entire body weight.

Sanchez ended up in hospital with the injury and perhaps he’ll think twice before he fancies his chances at nailing a Cristiano Ronaldo impression again.
