Antonio Conte fumes at Spurs players and owners in post-match rant

Conte has finally gone full Conte

Livid Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has launched a scathing attack on both his players and the club’s ownership following their 3-3 draw with Southampton.

Spurs squandered what appeared to be a fairly comfortable 3-1 lead at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon, allowing both Theo Walcott and James Ward Prowse to score second half goals to level up the scoring.

Conte was left furious by his team’s collapse and, in true Conte fashion, couldn’t resist running his mouth in the post-match press conference.

After initially labelling his players as “selfish,” Conte continued to blast them further, saying “We are not a team. We are 11 players that go into the pitch. I see players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put in their heart.”

“The club pays us big money. Not to find excuses, not to play without spirit, to not find a sense of responsibility. For me, this is unacceptable.”

The Italian then appeared to say he believes Tottenham’s players are worse now than they were last season.

“Until now, I was not able to change it, but compare this to last season. The situation went to become worse,” he fumed.

It wasn’t just the players who took the brunt of Conte’s post-match rage, though. He also took aim at the club’s hierarchy, led by Daniel Levy, when questioned on why he believes the situation has become worse.

“They’re used to it here,” the 53-year-old replied. “They don’t play for something important.”

“They don’t want to play under pressure. They don’t want to play under stress. It’s easy this way. Tottenham’s story is this.

He finished up with possibly the most scathing criticism of his entire tirade, saying “20 years there is the same owner and they never won something. Why?”
