Antoine Griezmann did *that* celebration against Arsenal… here’s what it’s all about

It's not the first time we've seen him do it this season

We’ve been here before.

Not just in the sense that Arsenal have completely Arsenaled things up when in a seemingly strong position, but in terms of the celebration used by Antoine Griezmann to celebrate his late away goal.

With a one-man advantage since the ninth minute, Arsenal had taken the lead early in the second half of their crucial Europa League semi-final with Atletico Madrid through Alexandre Lacazette.

However, with Atleti posing little in the way of goal threat, Griezmann chased down a ball over the top with less than ten minutes of the game to play.

Laurent Koscielny’s error allowed his international teammate to get away a shot, which was saved by David Ospina. However, the rebound found its way back to Griezmann who managed to find the back of the net via a deflection off a slipping Shkodran Mustafi.

An important away goal for the Spanish side, in a game in which they had been completely dominated.

Griezmann made his way to the away end, performing the same celebration he had weeks earlier in the Madrid derby.

As many will now be aware, the celebration comes from Fortnite, a – *checks Google for proper description* – ‘co-op sandbox survival game’ which has recently taken the world by storm.

As any Fortnite player worth their salt will tell you, this was Griezmann making Arsenal ‘Take the L’.

And while the game may have finished 1-1 on the night, it’s very much advantage Atleti ahead of next week’s return in the Spanish capital.
