Alvaro Morata admits he wishes he’d never left Juventus

Alvaro Morata's embryonic Chelsea career has started very well indeed. Six Premier League goals in 10 appearances is a great haul in anyone's book, and his overall play has impressed the Stamford Bridge faithful. Despite this, it seems that the Spaniard striker's heart remains elsewhere. The 25-year-old spent the period between 2014 and 2016 plying his trade in Serie A with Juventus, and his preference was clearly to stay in Turin. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of Chelsea's Champions League game with Roma, Morata admits he'd still be wearing the famous black and white stripes if it was up to him:"There were contractual agreements to respect, but the disappointment was enormous, I found myself right back where I had started. "They treated me like the lad that I was before my two years in Italy. "My two years at Juve were fantastic. I was just a lad when I arrived and I was a real footballer when I left. "For a Spaniard, Italy is the best place to live. You’ve got all the beauty, history, art, good food and fashion. "I would never have left Italy and Juve."When asked whether he missed Italy, Morata added:
"Very. My wife would like to live in Spain, I in Italy. [London] is a compromise."
