Alisson is still fuming about West Ham’s opener last weekend

Alisson has taken to social media to make a cryptic dig at referee Craig Pawson, with the Liverpool goalkeeper still evidently angry about West Ham’s first goal in last weekend’s defeat.

Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season as the Reds lost 3-2 at the London Stadium, with the Hammers’ first goal causing controversy following Angelo Ogbonna’s aerial challenge with the Brazilian stopper.

A VAR check was needed to determine whether or not the Liverpool man had been fouled before palming the ball into his own net from the West Ham corner, but the goal stood.

Now – following Brazil’s 1-0 win over Columbia – the 29-year-old took to Instagram to further vent his frustration, posting a picture of himself catching the ball on international duty.

His Instagram story featured the sarcastic caption: “When you can use your hands, the job it’s not so hard,” followed by a thumbs-up and a thinking emoji.

Despite Alisson and Liverpool’s frustration, it did appear that the Italian only had eyes for the ball – jumping alongside, rather than into, the goalkeeper.

Typically, goalkeepers are accustomed to protection from officials, often getting free-kicks in those kind of situations.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Klopp said: “Some situations, I think, have to go a another way.”

“The goals they score, I think the first one is a foul on the goalkeeper, I don’t know exactly what players have to do for it to not be a foul against the goalkeeper.

“The arm goes against Alisson’s arm, so how can he catch a ball when somebody pulls his arm away? It really makes no sense.”
