What a moment for the young Reds fan
Jurgen Klopp has revealed who the young Reds fan involved with Liverpool’s trophy celebrations was after they defeated Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Liverpool and Chelsea played out an interesting and exciting 0-0 draw at Wembley, before a penalty shootout saw the Blues’ substitute goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga become the only player to miss his spot-kick.
All 11 players from both sides were forced to take a penalty, with Kepa – who replaced first-choice ‘keeper Edouard Mendy in the final few minutes of extra-time – blazing his effort well over Caoimhin Kelleher’s goal, sparking celebrations from the Liverpool fans.
As the Reds players and staff made their way up the iconic steps at Wembley to receive the trophy and their medals, a young supporter was spotted amongst the group.
The youngster even managed to get his hands on the trophy as the players lifted the cup, before he was eventually returned to his seat in the stands.
Klopp was asked about the fan during his post-match interview and the German offered a touching explanation as he confirmed that he was invited by first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

“Ali brought him over and his dad was shouting, ‘let him touch the trophy’,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
Although the Liverpool boss was keen to highlight the importance of the victory for the supporters, he admitted that his focus is already on the next fixture.
He added: “I’m fine now but I would have been fine with 90 minutes and 1-0 to Liverpool and we go home.
“I am happy for the people in dark times to celebrate something like this. We have to work hard.
“We play on Wednesday again, which I cannot believe now.
“We will give it a try. It is a home game and it will be rocking because of tonight.”
Liverpool’s Carabao Cup triumph marks the first time Klopp has won a domestic cup competition since he arrived at Anfield in 2015, and keeps the dream of securing a historic quadruple alive – with Klopp’s men still competing on all three remaining fronts.
