Aguero is back! (kind of)

Footage has emerged of Sergio Aguero playing football for the first time since his December retirement from the games after being diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia.

The Argentine was forced to retire towards the end of last year due to ongoing heart problems, which were detected after he was substituted with chest pains in his last Barcelona match against Alaves. After undergoing cardiological tests, the club confirmed the cause was a heart arrhythmia.

The 33-year-old – who is Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer and won five Premier League crowns during his time at the Etihad – joined Barcelona last summer, but struggled with health and injury troubles and announced his retirement from football before the new year.

During his short stint at the Camp Nou, Aguero made five appearances and recorded one goal – which came against Real Madrid.

Aguero back on the pitch

However, Aguero has since been able to get back on the pitch, albeit not in the full capacity that he would probably like.

Footage circulating on social media shows the former striker playing five-a-side in Miami against River Plate fans – donning a Barcelona shirt.

Despite his retirement, it was clear that Aguero still possesses the skills that made him one of the best forwards in Premier League history.

He could be seen dribbling past a number of opposition players before unleashing a strike with his right foot and, despite appearing to walk for a lot of the match, the River Plate supporters could not get close to him.

Aguero scored 260 goals in 390 games for Man City, and also made 101 appearances for Argentina – registering 41 goals and 19 assists.
