Tammy, we need to know what you were *really* talking about

Roma striker Tammy Abraham has sent Liverpool fans into a frenzy on social media after telling Trent Alexander-Arnold that he will be ‘joining you guys next season’.

The England international was seen talking to the Reds right-back at the end of an England training session, where he appeared to joke about moving to Anfield next year.

Yes, he was probably joking, or even more likely, actually talking about something else entirely – however, that hasn’t stopped Liverpool supporters getting excited about the prospect of seeing the 24-year-old in a Liverpool shirt.

In the clip, Abraham is shaking hands with players after finishing a training drill. As he stops by Alexander-Arnold, he says “Trent hello, I’m joining you guys next season” – to which the Reds defender laughs.

This, somewhat understandably, sent Reds fans into a complete frenzy, especially considering that Abraham scored 17 league goals for Roma last campaign.

How did social media react?

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Tammy Abraham is a great young player, had an amazing season with Roma and helped them win the Europa Conference title so I think Liverpool should sign him.”

Another person added: “Trying to think of any other context Tammy Abraham could be referring to Trent in that video, other than him saying he’s actually joining Liverpool, & I can’t think of one… as it goes, I actually think Tammy would be a very good signing for us to be honest #LFC”.

A third wrote: “Klopp would turn Tammy Abraham into another Harry Kane”.

Another user stated: “I want Tammy Abraham at Liverpool just to show those blue w***ers how to use him.”

A fifth said: “Tammy Abraham will excel in Liverpool”.

Abraham joined Roma last year in a £34 million move from Chelsea after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

The frontman played a vital role in the Serie A club winning the inaugural Europa Conference League and securing a European qualification spot – registering 27 goals and five assists in 53 matches in all competitions.
