'I always knew that boxing was where I wanted to be'
Reality TV and Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers has confirmed his switch from MMA to professional boxing.
The 34-year-old - who had a 5-2 record in MMA - has signed to fight on Sky Sports with promotional stable Boxxer, run by promoter Ben Shalom.
He will be trained by highly-respected British coach Adam Booth - who has previously worked with David Haye, Andy Lee and George Groves.
Speaking on his switch from MMA to boxing, Chalmers insisted that he 'always knew' he wanted to change sport at some point in his career.
He said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time in MMA but I always knew that boxing was where I wanted to be.
"Now I’ve got the chance to fulfil that dream and over the next few years I’m going to give it my all."

Chalmers fought for American promotion Bellator and enjoyed two knockout wins in his seven-fight MMA career.
He is the last high-profile name to join Sky and Boxxer, following in the footsteps of Claressa Shields, Viddal Riley, Savannah Marshall and Chris Eubank Jr.
"Millions of people know Aaron Chalmers as a television star and professional MMA fighter," said Shalom.
"But he’s very serious about boxing and I’ve witnessed his dedication over the past twelve months.
"Adam Booth is one of the most accomplished trainers out there, so I’m looking forward to some exciting fights and seeing how far he can go."
Chalmers' pro boxing debut, along with the weight division he will compete in, is yet to be announced.
Harlem Eubank, 27, and Josh Kelly, 27, have also signed deals with Sky.
