True to his word, the larger than life character invited Kavanagh down to the gym where he was given more than one surprise on his visit.
"He invited me down to watch him and his team spar and for him to pay his bet," he explained.
"We got there and was greeted by Molly McCann who asked us who we was. We told her why we was there and after that was made to feel more than welcome.
"Paddy finished his sparring and came and paid his debts, but little did I know he was paying me in 10 and 20p's."
Kavanagh and his friends then spent the rest of the afternoon chatting to the UFC star, who has shot to fame in the last 12 months thanks to his unique personality, mental health advocacy, and of course his fighting ability.
