Another year is coming to an end

On the final Liquid Football of 2019, host Kelly Cates is joined by former Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell and ex-Chelsea, Celtic and West Ham United forward Carlton Cole to discuss the festive fixtures and some managerial changes.

First up for discussion is David Moyes’ return to the Olympic Stadium following the sacking of Manuel Pellegrini. With the Hammers seemingly now in a relegation battle, the panel discuss what Moyes should do to turn things around ask whether he was in fact the right choice for a club with West Ham’s ambitions.

Mikel Arteta’s home debut as Arsenal manager is discussed, after his side undid their own good work to lose to Frank Lampard’s Chelsea team.

They talk the transfer window, and who is likely to go or stay, as well as their own experiences of weird transfers, such as Carlos Tevez moving to West Ham, and Julien Faubert leaving the Hammers for Real Madrid.

Finally, they give their predictions and hopes for football in the 2020s as we depart 2019 and leave this decade behind us.
