Happy Friday!

What a week it’s been. Sports fans like myself thought we’d have spent the past seven days in abject boredom, counting down the days until the end of the international break. But instead, last Friday, we were served up the sporting news of the century, as it was confirmed that Premier League giants Manchester City are guilty of seriously breaking Premier League rules for almost an entire decade between 2009 and 2018. Seismic.

Elsewhere, Andy Burnham gave a good speech at the Labour Party conference, and we’re approaching Glastonbury ticket ballot day. Best of luck to everyone trying for them this weekend.

As we dive headfirst into October and the real, genuine end of summer — if anyone was still denying it was over — this week’s quiz should take you nicely into the arrival of autumn.

Alongside our responsibility to test your general knowledge and respective sporting memories, this week’s quiz shall also take us abroad to the other side of the pond, where we’ll explore that peculiar version of our language spoken in America.

Then, continuing in a similar vein to last week, when we reminisced over some of film and TV’s scariest gangsters, this time our picture round is a little lighter. You’ll need to remember some of the cutest side characters to ever appear in animated media.
