He let his 'man of the people' guise slip... again
Rishi Sunak's campaign to become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom hit another bump in the road last night.
Fresh from a
McDonald's breakfast gaffe, the former Chancellor tried to boost his credentials as a 'man of the people' by talking footy on
GB News.
Sunak, who is a self-described “massive football fan”, found the back of his own net after he said he was looking forward to his team playing Manchester United this weekend.
The Southampton fan clearly got his wires crossed, as the club don't play the Red Devils until August 27th.
They actually face Leicester City this weekend having had a rocky start to the season.

Sunak's confusion came a day after it was pointed out his choice of McDonald’s breakfast was taken off the menu more than two years ago.
He was also roundly mocked for a social media post he shared in which claimed to have "nailed" contactless payment in the fast food chain.
The former chancellor's
struggles with contactless are well-documented, but he claimed to have mastered it in the post on his Instagram story.
Except as you can clearly see from the picture, the order has already gone through and been paid for on screen.
