You have never seen someone wave a flag like this before.

The internet has had a field day after seeing Donald Trump’s bizarre attempt at waving a flag to get the IndyCar Freedom 250 underway.

On Sunday, the president and Melania were present in Washington for the latest event in the Freedom 250 celebrations – an IndyCar grand prix through the streets of Washington.

To marks the start of the race, Trump was handed the green flag to wave to get proceedings underway as the cars passed

You’d think this was a pretty simple task for anyone – but not Trump it seems.

Initially, the president of the United States of America literally got the wrong end of the stick as he had to be told which end to hold the flag by.

Then, Trump waved the flag in the same manner you might expect from a three-year-old child, with absolutely no coordination or anything resembling how you’d imagine someone would wave a flag.

Online, people couldn’t get over how stupid Trump looked, with some wondering if he had ever seen someone wave a flag before.

One person wrote on X: “This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my entire life tbh.”

Another said Trump was “really jerking” the flag, whilst a third felt it was necessary to make clear the video is not AI-generated, asking: “What is wrong with him?”

Others suggested that, given how well his war with Iran is going, a white flag might be more appropriate for Trump.

Speaking about the race, Trump told Fox Sports: “They’ve been trying to do it for 20 years.

“It turned out to be, I think, bigger and better. And the weather is beautiful.

“You know, I was hearing about rain all week long. It’s going to rain. It’s going to rain.

“I said, ‘No it’s not.’ And this is as nice a day as I’ve seen in Washington in a long time.”
