Julia says her family think she is a ‘horrible person’ who they ‘don’t want to know anymore’

The young woman who is convinced she is Madeleine McCann has broken down in tears in a new video after being shunned by her family and targeted by torrents of online abuse.

Julia Faustyna’s family in Poland has seemingly turned their backs on the 21-year-old as she awaits the results of a DNA test and as her family life gets unpicked on social media.

Over the weekend, Julia revealed her mother was already “very mad at me”.

In a video, where she is chatting with police psychic Dr Fia Johansson who is now helping her, Julia said her family are distancing themselves from her.

She has said police in the UK and Poland have been ignoring her but that she wants a DNA test to prove she is Madeleine who went missing from her holiday apartment in Portugal 16 years ago.

Several media reports suggest the McCanns have agreed to a DNA test but the young woman’s family in Poland aren’t having it,  the IrishMirror reports.

She broke down in tears and said her own family has called her to express their disapproval.

In the clip, she said: “My grandma called me. She said that I’m a very bad person, that she doesn’t want to meet me anymore. She started to shout at me.

“I asked her for a DNA test with her or with my parents and she will not take a DNA test with me and I can’t say she has to do it.”

She said her family said she is “not normal” for giving “hope to the McCanns”.

Julia says her family think she is a “horrible person” who they “don’t want to know anymore”.

A few minutes into the video she started sobbing, saying that she “feels alone” and revealed her relationship with her partner is suffering too.

She continued: “I am alone. My boyfriend wants to leave me too – because of this case.”

The woman also shared messages she says her mum sent, saying she “is sick”, needs “psychiatric help” and accused her of “setting up a circus”.

The message reads: “You are sick, Julia. I’m selling the house and none of us will answer the phone if you call, for everything you’ve done and the embarrassment you’ve put me through.”

Fia Johansson has posted an Instagram video pleading with people to stop abusing Julia.

“At this moment, she needs help. I do understand that 50% of you guys hate her now to the hundredth degree, just because you guys think and believe that she’s ‘not the real person, that she’s not Madeleine, she’s this and that’.

“I’m telling you guys, my team and me, we are investigating already about her family, her background, where she came from, which family she belonged to, what school actually she went to, and all other details.

“We understand that this case, Madeleine’s case, would be very sensitive for every, each of you.”

Maddie was just four years old when she disappeared from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007. No trace of her has ever been found and no one has been arrested.

The prime suspect in the disappearance, convicted sex offender Christian Brueckner, has been charged in Germany with unrelated sexual offences. He is accused of five offences between 2000 and 2017 in Portugal. German prosecutors say the investigation into Maddie’s disappearance is ongoing separately.

Maddie would be 19 in April.
