Madness.

Shocking footage has emerged of a Ryanair passenger running across the tarmac at Madrid Airport trying to catch a plane that was about to depart.

The footage, which was filmed by a ground crew member and posted on Facebook by the Workers’ Commissions Trade Union, shows an unidentified man leaping off a jet bridge at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport and on to the tarmac below.

The man then grabs two bags and runs towards a Ryanair Boeing 737 that had already pulled away from the terminal, at which point he is intercepted by two officials.

A spokesperson for Ryanair told ITV News that, as it was security breach at Madrid Airport, that it was “a matter for Madrid Airport Police”.

The post that accompanied the footage on Facebook read: “This is how passengers in Madrid behave when they don’t arrive in time for their flights.

“This particular passenger was missing a Ryanair’s flight and, unbelievably, skipped several security protocols established by AENA in their airports. We’re talking about level 4 security protocols! Not even with all those protocols we can feel safe…”
