‘Why is Dana White talking right now?’
Viewers have been left confused at the appearance of Dana White at Donald Trump’s rally in Florida as Trump declares victory over Kamala Harris for the 2024 Presidential Election.
White, the CEO of UFC, appeared on stage in Florida in support of Trump as part of a series of speeches declaring Trump’s victory.
Trump himself took to the stage to thank voters for his ‘magnificent victory’ and also namechecked the likes of Elon Musk and other close aides and allies such as assumed Vice President-elect JD Vance.
White himself made quite an impassioned speech at the lectern in front of Trump’s many supporters, saying: “This is what happens when the machine comes after you… Couldn’t stop him. He keeps going forward. Never quits.”
He also went on to thanks Joe Rogan for endorsing Donald Trump, which he claims helped see the former President ‘over the line’.
But despite his well-received speech in the room, viewers online were surprised to see White take such a prominent place in the proceedings.
White has been a longstanding supporter of Trump, supporting him in the 2016 and 2020 elections before his support in 2024. According to some sources, Trump was instrumental in helping White get his UFC brand off the ground in the face of staunch opposition from some US politicians.
After UFC fights were banned from being broadcast in some parts of the US, Donald Trump allowed fights to be hosted at some of his New Jersey properties.
“Nobody took us serious then, except Donald Trump,” White said in 2018. “I would never say anything negative about Donald Trump because he was there when other people weren’t.”
At the time of writing, the election has yet to be formally called for either candidate.
However, it does look likely that Trump will win both the Electoral College and popular votes in the country.
Trump said at his rally: “This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again.”
The Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris has confirmed she won’t be speaking tonight as her supporters have been sent home from her rally.
