Video has emerged of a South Carolina sheriff's deputy ripping a young, black female student from her seat, throwing her down and dragging across a classroom floor. https://twitter.com/ShaunKing/status/658746548076027904?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw The actions of the deputy - reported to be Ben Fields, who is also a school monitor - come amid widespread, rising racial tension in Richland County School District Two over a number of years. Fields, who has faced disciplinary procedures in the past, has been placed on administrative leave. The district was predominantly white 10 years ago but is now three-quarters black, with the black population believing that their white neighbours get far better access and opportunities, according to The Guardian.
