Ukraine has launched a major attack on Russian planes, in one of the most audacious attacks so far on Russian aircraft.
They launched a drone attack on the Belaya airbase in Irkutsk Oblast, in Siberia.
In a statement from Ukraine’s security service, the SBU, they said, "enemy strategic bombers are burning en masse in Russia".
Continuing, they said that Ukraine is conducting "a large-scale special operation aimed at destroying enemy bomber aircraft." Forty Russian aircraft have been hit.
Videos have been shared online showing smoke rising from the airbase.
This follows a wave of attacks on Ukraine from Russia last night.
Ukrainian authorities say that 472 drones and seven ballistic and cruise missiles were involved in last night’s wave of attacks on Ukraine.
This makes it one of the largest single Russian drone attack so far.
The attacks comes as the two nations prepare to enter another round of peace talks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of "doing everything it can to ensure the next possible meeting is fruitless".
He said: "For a meeting to be meaningful, its agenda must be clear, and the negotiations must be properly prepared."
Zelensky confirmed this morning that a Ukrainian delegation would be heading to Turkey with the main aim of reaching a "complete and unconditional ceasefire".
Russian media has reported that a delegation has also left for Turkey.
