Trump permanently shuts down personal blog after less than a month

“It was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on.”

Donald Trump’s blog which he posted statements on after being removed from social media platforms has been permanently shut down.

Trump’s senior aide Jason Miller told CNBC that ‘From the Desk of Donald J Trump’ has been scrapped from the ex-president’s website and “will not be returning.”

“It was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on,” Miller said in an email to the media outlet.

“Hoping to have more information on the broader efforts soon, but I do not have a precise awareness of timing.”

The blog only lasted a month and was set up as a way to reach his audience after being banned from mainstream social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter. He posted his statements on the platform, with visitors to the blog able to share his posts to Facebook and Twitter.

When it was set up, Miller called the page a “great resource” for Trump’s statements but did say that it “is not a new social media platform.”

Trump has struggled to reach his usual following since being removed from major social media platforms after he falsely claimed that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election and urged his fans to fight the results.

The Capitol in Washington was then stormed by protestors, and Trump refused to condemn their actions. He was removed from the platforms for inciting violence.

However the blog had failed to reach anything like the audience that his Twitter page did. After a week it had gathered just over 212,000 engagements (likes, shares, comments, backlinks) according to BuzzSumo data obtained by NBC News.

Maybe you can stump the Trump after all….
