These comments from Donald Trump really came back to bite him

Drain the swamp, eh?

While none of us can comprehend the enormous stress that comes with being the President of the US, it’s clear that Donald Trump is very fond of taking a break from the White House and vacationing working remotely in his plush resort at Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

Trump is currently making his fifth visit to the ‘Southern White House’, and since replacing Barack Obama as the leader of the free world, CBS News have reported that the President has spent every weekend of his first 33 days in office at the Palm Beach estate.

In fiscal terms, the American taxpayer has to foot a bill of more than $10 million each time he travels here, according to their figures.

While Trump’s tenure is still in its infancy, his frequent trips to the Mar-a-Lago resort stand in direct contrast to previous comments that he made about his belief that the president should be working solely and tirelessly in the White House.

While Trump was on the campaign trail, his views about staying and working in the White House were made very clear. He says “There’s no time for vacation, we’re not going to be big on vacation. The White House is this incredible place, right, it represents so much. You’re there for a limited time, if you’re at the White House and you’ve got so much work to do, why do you fly and leave so much?

“You think you would want to work, work, work, straighten it out, get it done, make it great and when you finish you can be proud. Boy are we a mess,” he adds.

Take a look.

Trump has previously been critical of Barack Obama for the exact same thing. Again, he’s currently enjoying his fifth visit to Mar-a-Lago. He was inaugurated on January 20th.

Regarding his current visit to Florida,  Trump said that the location was the “most convenient” place to hold a meeting that’s “all about” the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

When the VA Secretary David Shulkin was asked if he would be in attendance at this meeting, he shook his head and indicated that he would not. This meeting was later cancelled.

As for Trump’s recent activities, here’s a photo of him with Christopher Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax Media. Yes, that is a golf glove that he’s wearing.
