Theresa May has told MPs that she will resign as prime minister once her Brexit deal has passed through the House of Commons. The Conservative leader made the announcement at a meeting with the 1922 committee, reportedly saying: “I am prepared to leave this job earlier than I intended in order to secure a smooth and orderly Brexit.” https://twitter.com/bbclaurak/status/1110956697080741888?s=21 This does boost the chances of her deal passing through the Commons. However, she is still a significant margin away from gathering a majority in the House. Even with the support of Labour rebels and the conversion of the ERG, it looks like there will be a gap of around 50 MPs for her to bridge. The question is: how many of them will be swayed?
