It's happened, and whether we like it or not, Britain is going to leave the EU.

It would be undemocratic if it didn't happen, and now is the time to look forward, even if that feels like a bleak prospect against a backdrop of the British sterling falling to its lowest level since 1985, France overtaking us as the world's fifth biggest economy, and the likelihood that the housing market will suffer dramatically over the coming months. Many Remain supporters accused Farage's Leave campaign of being divisive and fuelled by a fear of others. A fear of immigration having a negative impact on job security in less affluent areas would certainly have been a motivation for many people voting to leave the EU, and while we can argue whether that fear was founded, what we absolutely can't abide in the UK if we're to be on our own as an island is fear of others.

Remain voters need to look forward, this kind of rhetoric isn't what we need today.
