The Queen thanked the public for their 'support and kindness' shown to the Royal family after Philip's death

On her 95th birthday, the Queen has today expressed her gratitude for the kindness shown by the public this past week, following the death of her late husband, Prince Philip. We have been deeply touched, and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life," the statement read. She said that, despite being in a "period of great sadness", it has been a comfort to the whole of the Royal family to hear the tributes paid to Prince Philip.
