The Queen thanked the public for their 'support and kindness' shown to the Royal family after Philip's death
On her 95th birthday, the Queen has today expressed her gratitude for the kindness shown by the public this past week, following the death of her late husband, Prince Philip.
On the Royal Family's official Instagram page, the Queen released a statement, in which she took a moment to thank the public for the support she had received.

"My family and I would like to thank you for all the support and kindness shown to us in recent days. We have been deeply touched, and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life," the statement read.
She said that, despite being in a "period of great sadness", it has been a comfort to the whole of the Royal family to hear the tributes paid to Prince Philip.
