Twin sisters Alice and Ellen Kessler have died on the same day by assisted suicide.
The twins had an illustrious career, and sang, acted and danced all over Europe during the 1950s and 1960s.
Originally hailing from Germany, they worked with huge stars such as Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and Sammy Davis Jr.
German news outlet Bild reports that the sisters decided to die via medical aid, which is legal in the country.
Euthanasia is illegal in Germany, but death by medical aid is legal.
This means that patients can give themselves prescribed drugs to end their lives, rather than the drugs being administered by a doctor.
The sisters 'no longer wanted to live’ and ‘had chosen to end their lives together’, the outlet reports.
Authorities confirmed they died in Grünwald, where they shared apartments that were connected via a sliding wall.
The twins previously told Bild that they wanted their ashes to be buried in the same urn, with those of their dog Yello and their late mother too.
