Texas residents have to restrict the number of sex toys they own, but they can carry a gun in public without training.
The shocking fact has come to attention following the Uvalde school shooting on Tuesday – in which 19 students and two teachers were shot dead by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. The husband of one of the murdered teachers has since died from a heart attack.
The horrifying event saw US gun laws face even more criticism. And the fact that there are harsher consequences surrounding the use of sex toys than guns has encouraged even further concern, Unilad reports.
According to Texas’ penal code, it is against the law to own more than six “obscene devices”.

Part of Section 43.23 states: “A person who possesses six or more obscene devices or identical or similar obscene articles is presumed to possess them with intent to promote the same.”
Sex toys are now allowed in the state, but it was only in 2007 that Texas Senator Ted Cruz backed a statute to ban them.

A part of the federal case’s brief said: “There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship.”
Residents in Texas have to restrict the number of sex toys they own while they are allowed to carry a gun in public without any training on how to use it.
So, how has Senator Cruz reacted to the recent backlash about US gun laws? Well, when questioned about gun reform this week, Cruz accused a Sky News reporter of having a “political agenda” before walking out of the interview.

The attack this week was the deadliest mass shooting at an elementary school since a gunman killed 26 people, including 20 first-graders, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
Texas has experienced 244 mass shootings (those with four or more victims) since 2014.
