Tesco, Lidl and Aldi products recalled following listeria outbreak

Frozen sweetcorn is widely believed to be the cause of the ongoing listeriosis outbreak

Major supermarkets across the country have pulled 43 products from their shelves because they could contain listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that has already killed two people in the UK. Frozen sweetcorn is believed to be the source of the outbreak, which has affected five countries across Europe. The Food Standards Agency have reminded customers that most frozen vegetables must be cooked before eating, and in particular frozen sweetcorn. Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury's have all taken immediate action and recalled all frozen sweetcorn  related products. The full list is as follows:

The bacteria can cause a deadly infection and the elderly, pregnant women and babies are particularly vulnerable. 11 people have been affected by listeriosis since 2015 and you are advised to return any of the above products that you have already purchased back to store for a full refund.
