Authorities are cracking down

A warning has been issued to boxing fans planning to illegally stream Fury v Usyk this weekend amid a fresh crackdown on the practice.

Tyson Fury will take on Oleksandr Usyk in the hotly anticipated rematch in Riyadh with the bout being shown on live streaming service DAZN.

Due to a rise in Internet Protocol Television users, there has been an increase in illegal streaming.

Last year, a YouGov poll revealed that one in ten Brits use illegal broadcasts to watch sports and an estimated 20 million non-paying customers tuned into the first Fury v Usyk fight.

Following that fight, a spokesperson for DAZN said that work would be done to prevent illegal streaming.

With another huge boxing match scheduled for this weekend as well as a full list of Premier League fixtures, authorities are cracking down.

Ahead of the fight, Kieron Sharp, CEO of BeStreamWise partner FACT, has warned boxing fans not to watch the bout by using illegal streams.

Sharp said: “Choosing to bypass official channels to watch the highly anticipated Fury vs. Usyk fight this Saturday isn’t just risky – it’s illegal and can expose you to serious dangers.

“Illegal streaming puts consumers at risk of malware, financial theft, and the compromise of personal data, such as emails, photos, and browsing history.

“During events of high viewership, fraudsters are targeting unsuspecting viewers.”

Fury is hoping to reclaim the WBC, WBO and WBA heavyweight titles after losing to Usyk in their first showdown in May.
