A speeding vehicle has struck pedestrians on a sidewalk in Times Square in New York City.
Thirteen people have been treated for injuries at the scene according to the New York Fire Department.
The area has been closed off by the New York Police Department.

A witness told Reuters the vehicle had driven against the traffic and on to the sidewalk, striking pedestrians.

The driver of the car was arrested at the scene.
Police have said that there's no evidence the incident was terror related, and the driver has been tested for being under the influence of alcohol following his arrest.
