Europe is eager for a war according to Russia, who has warned it about a potential involvement.
Alexander Grushko, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, has issued the warning to Europe just days after the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, promised his country would not launch any attack.
The Russian leader last week even deemed the rumours of a conflict with Europe as “outright lies and nonsense”, but according to the senior Russian official, NATO is now “actively preparing for the inevitable”.
He says that “there is a deliberate preparation underway for the economy, society, and military organisation for an inevitable armed conflict with Russia”.
After the OSCE Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting, Grushko told journalists that Europe is working with US to include American missiles in a future attack, Russian news agency Tass has reported.
He claimed that "currently, many countries are eagerly declaring their readiness to host US medium-range missiles on their territory, or to develop and build their own”.
Europe is moving down the path of the Cold War, he argues, adding that "it is very difficult to imagine what kind of political heavyweights the West will need to make decisions to stop this flywheel and shift it into reverse".
Putin, on the other hand, also spoke about the ongoing war with Ukraine and added that the United States are involved in bringing an end to the war.
The Russian leader said that “we see that the American side takes our position into account in some areas, but in other points, we clearly need to sit down and talk”.
His American counterpart, President Trump, has told reporters that he discussed with him over a peace proposal and that they had a “very good” meeting.
