Royal Mail is expected to cut up to 2,500 jobs, it has been reported.
Sky News said that up to 2,500 Royal Mail employees could lose their jobs under an 'organisational review' which was announced by the company.
The cuts are expected to affect Royal Mail's head office at its Farringdon Road headquarters in London, as well as within support function roles.
These changes are expected to be made by the end of 2027.
Around 130,000 people are employed by the historic insitution.
Royal Mail is one of the oldest postal services in the world, set up by Henry VIII in 1516 as a government department before being opened to the general public in 1635.
It was privatised in 2013.
The post service is the largest in the UK, delivering the most mail ahead of the likes of Amazon, Evri, DHL and DPD.
