The Royal family has been accused of double standards after an investigation was launched into bullying claims against the Duchess of Sussex, with some contrasting the move with the palace’s response to questions about Prince Andrew’s friendship with convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
Reports earlier in the week – published just days before the Duchess’ interview with Oprah Winfrey is due to air – claimed Meghan was the subject of a bullying complaint during her time at Kensington Palace, with an investigation now being conducted.
Speaking during an interview with Sky News, Carolyn Durant, the co-author of a biography about Prince Harry and Meghan called Finding Freedom, has accused the palace of hypocrisy after the royal family did not publicly announce any form of investigation into Prince Andrew’s relationship with Epstein.

“Why is there an investigation into this bullying but there’s not been an investigation into Prince Andrew and the allegations surrounding Jeffrey Epstein and the women who have made allegations?” Durant asked.
“Why hasn’t he been urged to cooperate with US authorities? Why were Prince Harry’s military honours stripped [after he stepped down as a working royal] but Prince Andrew’s haven’t been?”
The interview with Oprah, which also features Prince Harry, will be screened in full for the first time in America on Sunday, with UK audiences able to watch it the next day.
