Reports of further explosions in Brussels Metro station following airport blasts

There are reports of further explosions in Brussels following the blasts at Zaventem Airport earlier today.

Media outlets in Belgium are reporting explosions at Brussels Maalbeek Metro station. The station is close to a number of official European Union buildings.

The Brussels transport authority has reportedly closed all Metro stations while people are currently evacuated.

The Belgium interior minister has now increased Brussels’ terror alert to its maximum level.

As with the explosions at Zaventem Airport, the cause of the explosions has yet to be confirmed.
