Prince William barred from using e-scooter at new home in Windsor

Bad news for the king-to-be

For safety reasons and traffic management, no motorised transport is allowed inside the huge 4,800-acre Window Great Park, where William and Kate have moved.

Previously, the royal couple lived four miles away at Adelaide Cottage in the separate Windsor Castle Estate, along with their three children.

Prince William could have made use of his e-scooter then, as it is permitted there, and he was often spotted doing so.

However, strict park rules state that “aside from cyclists, the roads are reserved for residents and Estate workers”, and that “all other forms of motorised transport are not permitted within Windsor Great Park. Examples include: E-scooters, Hoverboards, One-wheels.”

This means that the future King, 43, will no longer be able to ride his 10mph machine around.

“William used to love his e-scooter to get around the castle as there was no ban. But of course he’s more than happy and prepared to adhere to the rules on e-scooters in Windsor Great Park”, an insider reported, as per The Sun.

That Prince William loves e-scooters is well documented.

Two years ago he was photographed by a tourist as he was riding one in Windsor, while he also met actor Eugene Levy on his e-scooter as part of Levy’s docuseries The Reluctant Traveller.

Explaining why he enjoys them, William added that: “We come and use the castle for work and for meetings, and to see people. I’m always late so I thought this was the way to keep my meetings on time.”

Sources suggest that residents who live on the Windsor Great Park estate can use e-scooters on roads near their homes, in spite of the ban.
